I visited Mrs M this morning. She is absolutely lovely and funny! We had some great chats about her long and mostly very happy life in Windsor, then Maidenhead.

She showed me an old photo of her grandparents in India and we discovered it was taken in 1891. She then showed me her old family Bible that her grandfather had given to her grandmother at their wedding in 1888, it's pages still holding their shiny gild 😲

On the back her grandmother had noted the birthdates of all her children and sadly the dates some of them died.

It was a whirlwind tour of nearly a century and a half capped off by pottery of even older vintage that belonged to her great-grandparents who were bargees.

A very enjoyable morning for a history lover like me!
