There can possibly be no better feeling when about to move a bed base and mattress down (and around) a very narrow staircase to discover the divan base is as light as the proverbial feather.

This meant that all the heavy lifting that Hilary and I had to do on this Saturday evening task was already on the ground floor, and once table and armchair were relocated to create the required space, we were able to get the bed downstairs from the bedroom and into the living room as directed by Mrs S's very helpful carer.
