The storm passed and we met Urban Green at The Bike Garden in Nuns Moor Park. We were accompanied by several volunteers from different organisations, some from Friends of Nuns Moor Park and some from Urban Green.

Urban Green are currently taking part in The Beelines project, in partnership with Northumberland Wildlife Trust. Their aim is to plant 2,500 trees and 25,000 bulbs across the North East. Urban Green had everything we needed, including the all-important digestive biscuits. Today we started with one box of 1000 snowdrops and 500 daffodil bulbs. We chose our tools and got to work planting the bulbs. It was very mindful, getting into the rhythm of the bulb planting. I am sure there will be many more bulb planting sessions with Urban Green across the North East.

It is lovely to see Nuns Moor Park coming along. The park is home to beautiful beech trees and crocuses that are believed to have been planted in the 1920s. We will have to make a return visit in the spring, to see which buds are a success.
