12 awesome runners ran 6km to help sort toys at The Salvation Army in Camberwell!

Well it was a pretty chilly day for a run on Tuesday but once again the For Goodness Shakes squad was out in full force!

We started off with a quick little warm up while we waited for injured Matt to get Ben's bike and lower the saddle a foot or two and then we set off on our way!

After two miles, we had arrived at The Salvation Army and were greeted by the lovely Janet who had everything laid our and organised ready for us.

They had been donated hundreds and hundreds of toys which needed to be grouped in to age and gender categories and then bagged up ready to be sent off to local families. And that's where we came in!

First job was sorting everything. Which was fairly straight forward especially when the suitable age was already written on the box! After the majority of the toys had been sorted, we started bagging them up.

Janet had a list of children's names, their gender and age and each child would be receiving a bag with one big toy, one little toy and a cuddly toy... because let's face it, you're never too old for a beanie baby eh?

Everyone grabbed a label and a bag and got packing! The race was on. We had 5 sheets of paper with about 30 names per page... that was a lot of bags to pack!!!

It was coming close to the time we needed to leave but we only had one more sheet of paper of names to get through.... so of course in true GoodGym fashion, we knuckled down, worked fast and got the job done!!!

After some photos we said our goodbyes and ran back to the office.

Great job everyone! It would have taken the volunteers hours and hours to achieve what you guys did in 45 minutes so really well done! Have a very Merry Christmas and I shall see you in February!
