The group gathered at The Spencer Denny Community Centre, Age Concern HQ, on Monday night to do a spot of outdoor maintenance. Getting to grips with the overgrown garden was just the thicket everyone needed to brighten an otherwise rainy day.

There was definitely no peas and quiet whilst Erin battled through the long grass making short work with the strimmer. Katy, Amanda and Tara worked tirelessly to cut back thorny brambles from the rear fences - what a re-leaf no one got scratched.

Lettuce be thankful the rain stayed away to allow Amy, Erin and Katy to demonstrate their leaf clearing and planting skills with snap dragons and shrubbery added to the tidier Age Concern garden.

Afterwards the whole team retrieved and revived the old flower beds adding in extra soil from a big anty pile at the back of the garden.

So much was achieved in such a short space of thyme - there is still more to do but the garden is looking radishing!
