Mrs B is getting excited about the coronation this weekend, and was even more excited that her daughter will be coming by to spend the day with her to watch it happen.

She has lived through the time of the late Queen, as well as her father and grandfather as Kings before her. She was around for the jubilee of George V, which was celebrated at her school with a big get-together and sandwiches. She heard the coronation of George VI on the radio of a neighbour, and watched the Queen's crowning on a 7-inch black & white TV (which would lose reception every time their downstairs neighbour used her sewing machine - don't ask me how!).

And now, she is excited to see this next chapter of this particular history of the country. I hope she has a good time watching it with her daughter.

I really enjoyed the visit and she was so thankful for it. Such a grand lady!
