Sheila and myself cycled to Ms L's place this afternoon to help her with some small jobs around the house, mainly involving a screwdriver, as we were told in the task description. We were both a bit concerned on how much we could help, as neither one of us is excelling in DIY-ing aroundour homes!... However we embraced the 'how hard can it be' attitude and showed up anyway! Ms L told us about her recent unfortunate experience when she tried to get work done in the house and ended up conned, a very sad experience that left her unsure what to do and who to trust now... We ended up doing the measuring for new curtains in the lounge, fix one of the curtains rail that needed a screw fixed and also cleaned up the floor in the garage under the leaking old freezer, so that Ms L can now order a replacement freezer and place it on the clean floor. Ms L was delighted with our help, and now she can move on and order the curtains and the new freezer.
