It was a gorgeous bright sunny morning and Mrs M was up bright and early ready to get packing for her move today.

Our mission was to take down wooden blinds from the tall bay windows at the front of the house and a curtain in the bedroom. This was a new set of skills for all of us but we were not put off and Mrs M was very well prepared with all the tools we needed for the job. 🧰 ⚒

All being of fairly average height, with very tall windows in front of us, we started discussing how our human acrobatic pyramid could work to reach the blinds, but we were then very relieved to hear that there was a ladder to reach the top! We quickly set to work and unscrewed each of the brackets and passed the blinds down along a GoodGym human chain ready for packing.

Mrs M then provided long sheets of brown paper to hang up at the windows to still provide a bit of privacy from passers by. We all agreed that this will be the next big interior design trend and Mrs M should start marketing this “vintage paper window dressing service” in Chelsea and Shoreditch! You heard it here first!

Lounge done we then tackled the bedroom curtains which required a quick trip through the wardrobe to Narnia in order to reach them, but they came down very quickly and easily with no help from Aslan required. So quickly in fact we found we still had time to spare and helped Mrs M with a bonus task of packing up her matress ready for the movers.

This was probably the most tricky of all the jobs as we had to lift a double mattress into a big green plastic envelope with very little clearance space each side! After a lot of giggling, jiggling and cajoling it was finally in and sealed and Mrs M was so pleased that the “dirty handed” removal men didn’t have to do it!

As we said Goodbye and headed out Emily told us that it was her very first mission! You wouldn’t have known it as you were such a natural Emily and you were so good at helping to put Mrs M at her ease. Welcome to the mission club! We’re so glad we could be there to celebrate it with you on such a lovely mission as well.
