On Tuesday evening, six GoodGymers made it to Carriers of Hope for another volunteering session. We were greeted by the delightful Gloria and Andrew. First, it was all hands on deck shifting boxes of baby milk upstairs. Although it didn’t look like there was much there, the boxes seemed to never end! It was a great workout for everyone. Sharon, Georgia, Steve and I carried the boxes up the stairs, while Laura and Lucy stacked the shelves and organised the boxes. Once we’d finished, we headed downstairs and set up three tables to sort oiut different types of flour into bags, label them, and heat seal them ready to go out for donations. It got pretty messy, but we had fun chatting while we worked. Gloria and Andrew led the way brilliantly. We finished with a good tidy-up, cleaned, and mopped the floor. Great work, everyone!

Saturday afternoon—the weather not too bad for February! Three Goodgymers came along to help out with the Swanswell Park and pond clean-up. Sharon, Steve, and myself joined a great bunch of people from different volunteering groups from around Coventry. The event was organised by Tatyana a volunteer who wanted to make a difference to her community! Great to meet up with like-minded people—nineteen showed up to litter-pick round the whole park and in the water. Twenty-one bags of rubbish and one shopping trolley. The park looked a whole lot better, and I'm sure the people , swans, ducks, and all the wildlife will be a lot happier!

8 Goodgymers in the super hot weather making there way to clothing Coventry tonight. With [Jill Ashley], Meera, Georgia, Steve and Laura taking a steady run over from together from Coventry boys and Girls club, Sharon taking a walk and Nigel and James meeting us there.
We arrived and were presented with an array of school shoes to sort. We jumped right in organising them by size and gender with a flurry of crates. With some of us labeling crates, others opening packages full of shoes and the rest loading up the crates, we worked seamlessly as a team and did a shoeper job!
With ten minutes to spare we paired up and did a speed session of 'wants', 'needs' and what the 'hells', a bit like snog marry, avoid as Nigel pointed out. We had a chuckle watching the guys pulling out the womens clothing and try to figure out what on earth they were looking at.
With the session ending Jo explained lots of extra help that they need so need to go away and see if there is any way we can help them out.
