4 Goodgymers today helped our friends at Wild Lakenham in their Orchard and meadow. A group were clearing the orchard with the sythes while others cleared up the cut pieces. 2 of us walked to the meadow and planted 7 Teasel plants, clearing a space to dig a hole, plant them then collecting water from the river to water them in. After an hours hard work we were treated to refreshments. Thank you Wild Lakenham..

It was a tropical day in Norwich, and we had to switch tasks at the last minute!
Thankfully Wild Lakenham came to our rescue, meeting us at the top of Lakenham Way with litter pickers and bin bags.
From there, 4 GoodGymer's walked and talked the full length of the path - 3km in total. After 1 hour we had filled an extra large bag with various items of rubbish.
Shout out to Maria who attended her first group run, as a professional wrestler she had no trouble tackling any trash.

Today’s task was fun, 7 GoodGymers supplemented the big group of Wild Lakenham to continue making the banks an excellent habitat for lizards to thrive in the Summer.
A few of us also did some litter picking and found lots to tidy, including an entire bike.
A task that saw GoodGymers arrive to help at different times and stay longer or shorter depending on their day, but we did all gather for the all important group photo.

Tonight 5 GoodGymer's ran and walked 5km along Lakenham Way to pick litter.
This area can see a high level of litter, and we were able to borrow tools and bags from Wild Lakenham conservation group at short notice - thank you!
After 45mins we had filled to large bags of cans, bottles and odd bit and pieces.
The most surprising find was a chrome bike frame, that Jonathan decided to carry home and make use of!

What happens when three brilliant community groups join forces? Magic - and a much tidier Lakenham Way!
As well as this, Task Force member Rebecca completed her 200th Good Deed what a hero!!
Today, four energetic GoodGym members teamed up with Wild Lakenham and the Lakenham & Town Close Green Spaces group for a scrub-clearing mission on the railway sidings at the bottom of Lakenham Way - that lovely traffic-free route into Norwich city centre.
The plan: Meet at 10. Get stuck in. The result: By midday, the transformation was incredible!
Trees and shrubs? Gone. Bramble roots? Dug out. Bushes? Cut right down. The bank? Trimmed to perfection (thanks to Roger the Scyther and those trusty hand shears!).
And that’s not all - the team collected heaps of rubbish revealed after recent cutbacks. Among the cans, bottles and crisp packets were some surprises… a tractor and a pregnancy test! (Yes, really.)
This collaboration is extra special because Wild Lakenham owes its very beginnings to GoodGym’s support and networking. Rob played a key role - even giving us our name! So, from everyone at Wild Lakenham: a huge thank you to GoodGym for helping us grow and thrive.
Here’s to more joint adventures and greener spaces for Norwich!
