Setting up for a Fair day
Friday evening saw me heading over to St John's Church to help with preparations for their Summer Fair, taking place the following day. There was plenty to do to get everything ready. I helped unload cars packed with donations and supplies, moved tables out from storage and carried boxes of items that would be sold at the fair. After a busy session of lifting, and carrying alongside the volunteers at the church, everything was out ready for the them to finish setting up ahead of Saturday's event. Hopefully the fair was a great success and enjoyed by everyone who attended!

I arrived at the church at 08:00am where there were a small group of people to welcome me, there was onsite parking. Initially I helped with a few small tasks but later Terry instructed me and some others to start setting up on the green around the church. We were given a map to show us where each stall was located and hammered posts with labels into the ground. Later helping to setup gazebos at each stall location. I worked with a gentleman named Barry. There were also some parasols to go up at three benches. As the start of the fete began at 11:00am loads more people started to arrive to help, I left at around 09:30am as I thought it would be nice for other people to use my parking space. It was a great start to my Saturday everyone was so nice it helped me to have a cheerful day. Apologies I didn’t take any pictures but was wearing my GoodGym T Shirt so everyone knew why I was helping. I tried not to let the team at GoodGym Woking down by working hard to help as best I could. St John the Baptist Church is an Anglican Church I found out, so CofE as I have grown up a Roman Catholic I mentioned they said they have good relations with the other local Roman Catholic Church in West Byfleet. I’m not sure that I have led a typical Christian life, but the Church didn’t go up in flames or the cross didn’t fall upside down upon my entry to the Church, lol :-) The Church of England has always been more compassionate towards gay people in England so I was proud to help out! Lovely people and a busy GoodGym mission 🙌

This morning 🌞 i headed back to the Church after my morning run to continue helping getting the church grounds ready for the Summer Fate 🎊
Today i was given 3 tasks to complete:-
First task was to help clear the area around the pound which had toads jumping around the area. The wild garden has come on so well over the last few months 🌻🌼🌷🪻
2nd task was to pull up all the weeds around the patio area. I managed to get quite a lot done. Once i had pulled most of it up the weed spray was applied all around.
The final task was to clear the gullies that were on the East side of the Church. In total there were 4 gullies and they were full of leaves 🍂 Lucky i had gloves on as they were damp and wet.
Once finished they caretaker was as always very grateful. 😊

This morning i headed off to St Johns The Baptist Church to assist with clearing all the gullies and gutters that were clogged up with leaves 🍁🍂☘️
I met up with Neil and Terrance who were telling me how the always appreciate Goodgyms help.
They have their summer fair coming up and have also asked if Woking GG can help with the set up ☀️
Once i had cleared the leafs i assisted with moving bags of barks around the church grounds.
After an hours work i was done, and looking to go back next week 😀
