Three of the team rolled up their sleeves to transform a community table for future summer hoopla fundraisers. Accurate measuring and careful masking tape application were absolutely key to setting up clean, crisp lines before any color could be added.
Once the layout was locked in, we needed a steady hand to carefully paint the vibrant striped design. The time and care was worth it - looking incredible, the table is now ready for its final top coat before it helps raise funds for the community. Well done creatives 👏!

Two dedicated GoodGymers headed along to support the Rotary Club of Merton to tackle a brilliant furniture upcycling project.
The pair got stuck into giving an old, weathered table some serious TLC by sanding, and working up a sweat to smooth down the rough edges and prep the wood. Once the dust settled, they applied a flawless coat of primer, leaving the table completely transformed and ready for its next chapter.
As a bonus, the team gave the surrounding patio an almighty clear-up while on-site, filling two big black sacks with garden debris to leave the entire area looking pristine!

Despite the downpour we headed over to help Merton Rotary with setting up for their event. Joining forces with other volunteers we prepped the tables and got everything in place ahead of the guests arriving for the presentations.

It was a fantastic turnout in Raynes Park as we supported the Dylan Strong Foundation with an extra Santa Sleigh collection tonight. The evening kicked off with huge crowds eager to see the big man himself, and while it took a little time to work through all the photo requests, the festive energy was high. Once we got moving, we hit the streets to knock on doors and shake buckets, meeting plenty of generous residents along the way. It was a lovely mild evening, and we thoroughly enjoyed playing Santa’s little helpers.

We had a great, albeit smaller, group tackling a shorter route with tonights Santa sleigh collections. Thanks to our experience last week we were entrusted with a vital responsibility: marshalling the sleigh.
Ensuring excited children and keen photographers experienced the magic safely. The team did a brilliant job guiding the crowds, keeping a watch on the sleigh, and facilitating smooth, safe interactions. Along the route others joined us to help with the collections and it was all completed very quickly.
It was a great evening supporting the Rotary team and collecting for Merton Mencap, meeting a few familiar and new faces along the way and despite a little persistent drizzle, the festive atmosphere and the sight of all the happy faces meant we enjoyed every minute.
Well done team!

For tonight's group session we teamed up with the Merton Rotary Club and Faith in Action for the Santa sleigh collections. Starting with a small team at the meeting point we soon snowballed as more volunteers joined us along the route and there was snow stopping us once we got moving.
With the festive tunes blasting we were (rockin' around the Christmas tree) knocking on doors and shaking our buckets. It was heartwarming to see the excitement on the kids' faces as Santa passed by and the community was incredibly generous.
A massive well done to everyone who came out to help. Yule be glad to know you’ve definitely made the Nice List this year!
We will be back next week helping with more collections so why not sign up and join us: https://www.goodgym.org/happenings/helping-with-marshalling-the-santa-sleigh-and-collecting-for-charity-c8ab3799-3be4-4cc8-99bf-d431721eb9a5
