It's amazing what you can find when you look! Over the weekend some of the team got busy litter picking and despite the heat kept their cool and disposed of small bits and butts (nitrous oxide canister included!) - saving items fro entering our waterways. Some recyclables were also sorted into the recycling bin. Well done team - hot work!

Collecting rubbish by lamplight. An hour spent collecting rubbish in the early evening by the light of our headtorches. Amazing just how much litter can be collected in a short time with a few people joining together.
It made a difference, we made a difference!

Swapping out of this week's group sessions for some networking at the Merton Green Spaces Forum. It was a fantastic opportunity to catch up with our many "Friends Of" groups from across the borough and meet the council's new green space contractors. Between the informative Q&A session and some productive conversations, we’ve spread the word about GoodGym in Merton and added a few more valuable contacts to our request list - meaning even more outdoor missions are on the horizon for 2026.

A group of Goodgymers set out to pick up litter in their local area. I managed to forget to take a photo, so excuse the picture inside the bin!

A group of us set out to pick up litter in our local areas. It was pleasing to see that there was less litter to pick up than this time last year but still a fair wack!

We hit the ground to support Merton Council's White Ribbon Walk in Morden Hall Park today.
Starting with a stroll from the Civic Centre to the meeting point to join with others and earn some steps, it also gave us the opportunity to meet new and familiar faces whilst raising awareness for the White Ribbon campaign.
Huge thanks to Merton Council for inviting us to support this important event. Every step counts towards ending male violence against women.
