Helping weed and prep Havant community allotment for the winter.

There's always time to fit in one more task! So on the way home from the Group Run, I did my allotment rota duties - watering all the beds and checking on the beans.

Everything is thriving!

I visited the Stockheath Lane community allotment to water the salads, veg & herbs, and to see the amazing handiwork of GoodGymer, Joe, who constructed the planting frames.

Sinéad and I joined local volunteers and the Community Team from Havant Borough Council at the first session for the new community allotment. The project is supported by funding from South West Trains and is part of a new initiative called Grow It, Cook It, Eat It.

It was far too muddy and wet to dig the plot, but we built mini greenhouses, sowed seeds in trays and set up compost bins.
