A rose betwixt thorns! 100 good deeds for Divya!

Monday 8th May 2023

Written by Jonathan (he/him)

Kept on the downlow, but a massive congratulations to Divya on reaching 100 good deeds.

A stalwart across many boroughs of Goodgym London, it seems only yesteray that Divya was attending his first good deed with us, here's hoping many more to come (and we can finally get you to wear your GG shirt).

We also welcomed Holly to her first ever Goodgym mission! A large bunch of Goodgymmers came together to help the friends of Ravenscourt Park tidy up the rosebeds which, by virtue of the increased rain and sun we've had, were rapidly being overtaken by many low-lying weeds.

Hopefully with our tidy up the beds will look even more beautiful when those roses start coming into bloom!

As per usual, we went to the garden centre cafe afterwards before the heavens decided that's when they wanted to rain us off.

Thanks to everyone for coming, you made a lot of work a lot lighter and hope to see you all again soon!

Putting the 'Weed' in Weeding: GoodGymers spruce Up Local Garden

Saturday 4th March 2023

Written by Hammersmith and Fulham runner

Four GoodGym volunteers banded together to transform a public garden into a stunning oasis in the heart of the city. The group spent an hour weeding, turning over the earth, and sweeping to create a beautiful and well-maintained green space for the community to enjoy.

The community mission was organized by Friends of the Walled Garden that aims to promote community engagement and improve public spaces.

The mission was a great example of how individuals can come together to make a difference in their local community. We are already planning future missions and hopes to inspire even more people to get involved in community engagement activities.

Special shoutout to Richard & Louise for joining up to help.

Supercart Sweep!

Saturday 4th February 2023

Written by Jonathan (he/him)

Title supplied by Sevan

Always nice to be back in the new year to support the good folks at Ravenscourt Park garden. We did some weeding and digging out of unwanted plants before piling the cart high and shifting it all to the compost pile.

Thanks to Kash and Sevan for a double task Saturday!

Things are looking Rosey at the Garden!

Saturday 5th November 2022

Written by Jonathan (he/him)

Three Goodgymmers arrived a little damp and a little bedraggled but a break in the weather gave us plenty of time helping with some weeding around the rosebeds and cutting up a large amount of rose bushes for composting elsewhere.

A quick hour's work saw us complete a lot of work and treat ourselves to a nice coffee and cake at the local Garden Centre cafe.

Always a pleasure to help out and we look forward to going back.

Getting to the root of the issue!

Saturday 1st October 2022

Written by Jonathan (he/him)

Our services in destruction were immediatly brought in when we arrived, helping to dig out a bush which had sadly not survived.

Wielding a mattock, we managed to dredge it out before helping pick the roots out of the soil and do a general tidy up around the space.
