We headed over to Morden Recreation Ground to lend a hand to the Friends group after an impromptu delivery of bluebells and snowdrops arrived!
There was no time to lose, so we got straight to work. There was plenty of digging as we made sure every bulb was tucked away and ready to bring some spring colour to the park.

A group of us carried on the work from last week and continued to plant the hedging whips (who knew they were called that?!) in Morden Recreation Ground. We got into a great pattern of whipping and sticking and lots were planted! Congratulations to Alex who completed her 25th GoodGym session!

The Friends of Morden Rec had received funding from the Community Fund for 1,000 spring bulbs, with the aim of getting 100 people involved in planting them, so GoodGym was only too happy to be involved. With the help of local residents, their children and some willing dogs we managed to plant 1,100 daffodil, crocus, tulip and allium bulbs in less than the time allotted. Hopefully come spring we'll be able to return and enjoy the beautiful blooms. Some of us were also inspired to go and buy bulbs to plant in our own gardens! 🌷

The rain held off and we cleared nearly a dozen black bags out of the 'Spinney' area, which is being managed as a nature reserve
