Just the Two of Us

Saturday 27th September

Written by Gill (She/her)

It was our monthly date at Leagrave Park and two Goodgymers joined the Friends of Leagrave Park for the litter pick. What we lacked in numbers we made up for with enthusiasm and we were soon wombling in the woodlands and playing fields clearing up cans, bottles and all sorts of litter, and getting a lovely walk into the bargain. Fortunately there was less litter than we usually find so maybe people are starting to take their rubbish home with them.

Leagrave looking lovely

Saturday 30th August

Written by Susannah Foot

We teamed up with Friends of Leagrave Park for our monthly litter pick. Thank you to Pastor Charmaine, Martin, Dave and Omar, plus other members of the community, we managed to make the park that bit prettier. Amongst the haul was a particular tortoise, a โ€˜messageโ€™ in a bottle and the famous drum kit.

Letโ€™s hope that the tortoise is still breathing, wherever he may be.

As ever lots of interesting finds around the park, bags of tiles, cans, take away food, a drum kit, a scooter and the almost obligatory shopping trolley ๐Ÿ›’. In total whelmed to collect around 30 bags of rubbish ๐Ÿ—‘ . Great effort by all involved. Well done ๐Ÿ‘ โœ”๏ธ ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป ๐Ÿ‘Œ ๐Ÿ˜€

A truck load of fun ๐Ÿšš

Thursday 17th July

Written by Martin R

3 Goodgymers came out to help Nine Red CiC... load some tables and chairs and a new marquee/gazebo into the back of a truck. This was all for a Community event they are taking part in this weekend. There were quite a few heavy boxes which gave us all a good upper body work out. Great effort everyone, well done ๐Ÿ‘

Nice day for a walk

Saturday 28th June

Written by Martin R

6 Luton Goodgymers joined the FoLP and ABCD-IN-LUTON for this months community litterpick.
We started by welcoming our first timer Susannah who was glad to finally come out with us after signing up a little while ago. As the temperature was beginning to climb Kevin from ABCD-IN-LUTON reminded everyone to stay hydrated and he'd generously brought some bottles of water ๐Ÿ’ง ๐Ÿ’ง ๐Ÿ’ง so everyone could take one on their way round the park. It was quite a leisurely walk around the park, past the site of the new Luton Henge project and along the river Lea. We gathered around 15 bags of rubbish ๐Ÿ—‘ and the park looked a lot tidier after we'd all finished. David occupied his regular spot dangling like Spiderman over the river, fishing out all sorts of goodies only this time he had to fish out something a little more personal to himself as his phone dropped out of his pocket into the juice. He assured me it was ok ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป ๐Ÿ“ฑ . All in all it was a good task and we look forward to returning next month. Great job, well done ๐Ÿ‘
