Great to meet Gill again from GoodGym Luton this morning and a big welcome to Aniedi for your first every GoodGym session AND first parkrun volunteering credit!! Clear, fresh, and crisp morning following a couple of wet evenings in Manchester.
Gill was our expert timekeeper this morning for Fletcher Moss parkrun event number 288. Almost in-sync with the finish tokens (pesky funnel duckers...), alternating hands in and out of gloves seemed to help a little bit on a chilly March morning. Aniedi was marshalling at the river bend (#2) cheering on participants going out and then returning for the final turn of the parkrun. Ben as RD was able to delegate the roles to a well-drilled 16 volunteers who enabled the event to go ahead without a hitch.
394 runners and walkers completed the 5 km with lots of puddles around the course keeping the people on their toes.

After overnight rain 🌧, Fletcher Moss parkrun event number 285 was very muddy and riddled with puddles for participants to dodge or just go through. The leading runner fell over at least twice while taking the corners too sharply.
Divya was marshalling at the M60 corner (#4) as runners and walkers completed their 2 laps of the cow field. Ben was Run Director, briefing marshals, setting up, and processing the results.
430 participants completed the 5 km route with 22 excellent volunteers.
