No fridge too big

Wednesday 4th November 2020

Written by Tousif

Today we were invited back to finish the job following on from last weeks mission where we helped move some equipment around to make space for the new wood work area at Eat, Make, Play.

Todays task was to load a commercial fridge into a van.. get to the destination (The Sharehouse, formerly known as 'The Real Junk Food Project') 2.5miles away and unload it.

At this point I must give a special mention to Piotr who isn't a Goodgymmer (yet) but almost single handedly moved the fridge around. My favourite quote of the task from Piotr was "It's ONLY like 100kgs"

To our delight we were invited to help ourselves to some left over pumpkins at the end of the task.

Its Freezing out here!

Thursday 29th October 2020

Today we headed to The Share Shack in Ladywood which is a community library like no other where members of the local community can pop in just to say hi, borrow useful items, learn something and share something!

The charity had inherited a fridge and a freezer which they needed moving to make space for a new woodwork area. But first the freezer needed emptying.. which Yvette and Ryan made light work of.

Once it was empty we cleared a bit of space and moved the freezer into it's new home and started restocking it. Whilst Yvette and Paul restocked the freezer myself and Ryan moved the fridge nearer to the exit so it can be taken out easier when the guys at Eat Make Play get the van to take it to it's new home in winson green.

Look out for part 2 of the mission..
