Team GG went down to help out the local parkrun this morning.
GG leader Jen swapped hats to be the Run Director, Vicki was the turnaround marshal - complete with bright orange cone. And Dave played rock, paper, scissors with other volunteer Dave to see who would get Gate 3 and 4.
After some super fast runs in the sun, we packed down and headed off to enjoy our own Sunday runs. Hope the podcast worked better than the music Vicki!!

We had volunteers coming out of our ears at Junior parkrun this morning - both the regular EJPers and the GoodGym contingent.
Lots of roles were covered, from set-up to parkwalking, marshalling to barcode scanning.
Well done team!

Our final Sunday at Eastney Junior parkrun as part of the January Challenge happened to fall on the same day as their 9th birthday, so we got to celebrate with fancy dress, homemade fudge and lots of crazy runners!

We were back at Eastney Junior parkrun for the third Time this January to lend a hand and make running fun for kids.
Following on from a request from last week, Jen and Alice delivered a Titanic themed warm-up for the children, accompanied by the haunting pipes of Celine Dion through a Bluetooth speaker. Anyone walking by the park this morning must have been very confused!
Laura and Dave walked the course with mini GG-er Jack, who was very impressed with Dave's ability to guess his finish position precisely. Aoife was on scanning duties whilst Nia kept everyone safe and motivated as a marshal.
Great job again this morning, everyone, looking forward to seeing you next week for the green themed parkrun birthday celebration!

After a slightly bizarre Great Fire of London themed warm-up, we saw plenty of great runs by the kids (and some parents!) this morning.
Mini GGer Jack was a super Tailwalker along with Laura and Judy, whilst Val, Dave and Aoife took up marshalling roles to cheer them along the way.
We followed up with a nice beverage and some breakfast at the Park Cafe, which set me and Dave up for our run and the rest of the squad for their trip to North End Street Garden this afternoon.
