White Ribbon Day 2022

Friday 25th November 2022 is White Ribbon Day, a male-led campaign to declare that they will never commit, excuse, or remain silent about men's violence against women. It also coincides with the UN's 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence.

This was Abby, a resident in one of our areas, who needed to ask for the help of some GoodGymers passing by after being confronted at night by a man unknown to her. Luckily, they were there, but unfortunately, this is experienced by many women around the country and the world.

This year, White Ribbon Day focuses on the theme of football with #TheGoal of the campaign to highlight 11 traits (represented by 11 players on a football team) that men and boys can nurture to help create safety and equality for others. Read more here.

The traits are ally, caring, empathetic, courageous, gentle, resilient, reliable, hopeful, principled, reflective and supportive.

GoodGym feel very passionate about spreading a message of accountability for men as well as support for female, gender-neutral and non-binary GoodGymers, beneficiaries and residents we encounter.
