"We are far more united and have far more in common than that which divides us." Jo Cox, 2015

Yet again this year, GoodGym proudly supported The Great Get Together, a day organised by the Jo Cox Foundation.

Last weekend (18-20 June), a number of GoodGym groups across the country joined the UK-wide movement to bring people together, celebrate connections and echo the late Jo Cox’s #MoreinCommon message.

A few of the activities included litter picks, runs and chats by GoodGym Slough, Newcastle and Cardiff.

GoodGym Trafford held a race event.

Area Activator Kate Frain explained: "It was lovely to get together with GoodGym Trafford and friends from GoodGym Stockport and Colchester to join in with the #RunforJo event in memory of Jo Cox which was also Trafford's first GoodGym race. With our green t-shirts on, we ran 6.5km around our respective areas and enjoyed connecting with each other to remind ourselves and others that we really do have more in common.”

The annual celebration helps unite people, bridge divides and tackle loneliness, while showing the collective power we have as a community. It does so in the name of Jo Cox MP who was killed on 16th June 2016.
