Tim and Latoya got on with the job as usual of removing tents and tables from the van ready to be decorated with their coordinating activities.

A wondering Parkrun visitor then decided to lend a hand as she waited to volunteer as Park walker for this week's Lordship Rec Parkrun.

Never skip an arm day. With 3 of us on hand we rapidly emptied the van of gazebos, weights (to stop the gazebos blowing away), tables, and supplies.

Much chat about the upcoming Big Half and despite the rain, we were all set up in time to hop over to the hub in time for the volunteers' briefing at Parkrun.

On a warm and sunny Friday evening, six of us turned up to help task owner AJ and some of his volunteers to set up the course for the Tottenham Ten 10k race , which was to take place the following morning. The task appeared simple: keep up with AJ as he charged around the course, planting signs as he gave us instructions. And all in time for our booking at Table 13 at 8pm! Fortunately after we had hammered in most of the direction signs AJ said he would cycle around and put up the rest of the distance signs - so we didn't actually have to walk 10k. The pizza still felt very well-earned though! Then Sarah spotted a broomstick one of the other volunteers had and it was time for her party trick.
