We'll get by with a little help from my pen
Mr R is currently unhappy in hospital so GoodGym were tasked with making space for a hospital bed in his flat so he could come home.
We arrived to be greeted by his wife who was deaf and mute, so armed with a pen and paper, we introduced ourselves and went to see the room that the hospital bed needed to fit into.
Ms R was a bit nervous at first, but we soon found our rhythm and were frantically writing down notes, moving shoe boxes behind doors, moving chairs around and making sure the cupboards and drawers were still accessible.
The real challenge was the sitting room, as there wasn't really much wiggle room. However, we soon realised two of the units could fit behind the sofa and everything could sort of fit where they had been. Ms R was a bit worried that she wouldn't be able to live with such an empty room, but we explained that once the hospital bed was in, things could be moved back to where they were.
Right at the end of the mission, there was a bit of a commotion as Ms R realised that her kitten was under the sofa that we'd just moved. We all held our breath, extremely nervous that we may have killed a cat... but thankfully no animal was harmed in the making of this mission.
About 12 pages of our notebook later, we waved goodbye to a very happy Ms R.

Stockport
S'no real parkrun ... It's a GoodGym parkrun
Yesterday, GoodGym Stockport hosted the second in a series of (not) parkrun training sessions, aiming to keep us fit, active and happy during the current Lockdown measures.
Saturday 16th saw an incredible 83 runners from GoodGyms up and down the country...and even overseas! (shout out to those who were running in GoodGym spirit from Prague and Spain!) pacing their local trails and green spaces to complete the 5km session.
It seems the elements were out in spectacular force with runners embracing the winter wonderland conditions!
All in all, a RUNderful Saturday (not) parkrun!
Next week, Saturday 23rd January, the baton will be passed to GoodGym Colchester to host. You can sign up here: https://www.goodgym.org/happenings/goodgym-not-parkrun-week-3
Once again, a massive thanks to Melanie Young @ GoodGym Bristol (a very savvy computer person ) for creating the results form and who will put the results together for our (not) parkrun events.

GoodGym (not)parkrun Week 2

After the incredible success of Norwich's meticulous hosting of the first GoodGym (not)parkrun, GoodGym Stockport are hosting the second week of the national GoodGym (not)parkrun on Saturday 16th January!
GoodGym (not)parkrun will be hosted by a different GoodGym area each week during lockdown and is aiming to get everyone involved in the January Challenge 2021, get fit and active in your local community and carry forward the parkrun spirit!
You can complete your 5K any time on Saturday and submit your time, by midnight on Saturday, using the form.
A big shout out to Melanie Young @ GoodGym Bristol (aka tech savvy whizz kid) for creating the results form and who will put the results together for our (not)parkrun events. To let her know your email address and other useful information, there's a one-off registration form to complete. You can find this here.
The first GoodGym (not)parkrun saw an amazing 76 GoodGym runners across the UK take part... can we make it over 100 this week? ;-)
If you'd like a photo to be included in the run report, please take a selfie and email it to sian@goodgym.org or WhatsApp to 07969306127.

Icey Run to Iceland
A cold and frosty run from Streatham Hill to West Norwood to buy a trolley full of essentials for Ms F from a deserted Iceland.
