JUNIOR PARK RUN
This morning Wayne, Alys, & Sharon carried different volunteering roles at the junior park run.
All three of them were out on the 2k course as marshals cheering and encouraging the runners around. Alys once again brought along her power up board 💥 to give the runners an extra boost.
in total there were 88 runners this morning with the fastest time at an amazing 07:39. There were also 19 PB's fantastic running by everyone.
Next week we are at the food bank in town. Please remember its a Thursday not our normal Wednesday we will meet at the leisure center and run together. 😄

On a very cold Wednesday evening three brave runners went. Unfortunately Holly was unable to make this adventure but passed on the baton of litter pickers and some bags so that the task could continue. Once we collected the equipment from meeting at Woking Leisure centre, the runners went straight into action, Anne had noticed much litter on her way in so we all headed straight there. So Anne, Sharon and I started to head Bradfield Close. Once we got there were was plenty for us to start clearing out, from crisp pockets all the way to full half-bottles of wine. Having spent a good ten minutes there while tussling with the bushes to grab as much of the litter as possible we needed to start to warm up again as the cold weather was kick-in!! We then made a run along Mt Hermon Road where there were plenty of light bits of litter discreetly hidden in bushes and hedges along the road when we passed the local Woking Conservative Club where there some people gathered outside. They were very enthusiastic with what we were doing and gave us much encouragement. As we headed to the end of the road we came up against a street corner that had amass a mess!! We quickly dig in and found plastic bags, plastic water bottles, kinder toy shells and so much more. Having filled our bag and determined to stay warm we decided to call it a day so a we ran back to Woking Park, we said good bye to Anne on route where she departed and kindly took the rubbish bag with her, Sharon and I continued to the Leisure Centre trying our best to keep warm. A great session with lots of start stop running helping to keep us not only warm but in tip-top shape for the colder weather ahead. Brilliant work team 😊
