Do-you-think-they-saurus clean them?

Norwich Report written by Steven Hitcham

Cleaning the GoGo Discover trails is always a fun task, and produces great some great photos, how many T-Rex's can you spot?

A big welcome to Nicky and Paul (my brother from another mother) who were taking part in their first GoodGym encounters.

The lovely Sarah was making an appearance after moving to New Zealand 3.5 years ago, sadly its just a flying visit but we really appreciate her making the effort to come to GoodGym while she's back.

So tonight's task was to clean as many of the T-Rex's as we can... and as you can see from the photos, we did a lot of them!!!

The hard work was rewarded with a visit to the pub.

(Fl)abs of Steel

Norwich Report written by Steven Hitcham

Instead of a Monday evening Group Run, we decided to have a Monday evening plank challenge... because that's fun yeah?

I tackled my technology ignorance and set it all up on Zoom (gasp).

I'm so impressed how GoodGym will always remain strong through challenging times, 17 people still came together to do this challenge, we're such a unit.

After a few people were distracting the start of the challenge, I set the timer and the planks began. One by one, the GoodGymers were dropping like flies and it was left to Simon and Robert to battle it out like troopers... with Robert just pipping Simon in a time of 4 minutes and 18 seconds.

... but it was not quite over just as Robert was celebrating his champion status, our friends and GoodGymers Tom and Sarah (reigning plank champion) were due to join us from New Zealand, where they have emigrated to, but missed the live Zoom. However, they didn't want to miss out and recorded themselves doing the plank challenge. Tom didn't last too long and was looking on as Sarah crept passed Robert's time for a record 4 minutes and 20 seconds. I'm not sure if it's easier to plank in the southern hemisphere?!

Well done everyone and keep tuned in to await next week's fitness challenge.

Thanks for adding me to this and letting me reclaim my title from Rob's brief reign. Is there less gravity in the southern hemisphere?!

Started the new year with a rubbish clear

Norwich Report written by Steven Hitcham

2020 is here and GoodGym Norwich is back to do more amazing good deeds this year.

The 1st Group Run of the year was to do a litter pick around the Riverside area of Norwich, something I'd noticed had got quite messy over the festive period. A big thank you to Voluntary Norfolk who lent us litter pickers and high vis jackets through the LUMi platform.

Becky and George were taking part in their 1st GoodGym ventures.

A big wow to Beks who was completing her 100th good deed! What a way to start the year.

Thank you to Katy for being back runner and Sandra for being walk leader.

After a gentle 1.5km jog/walk down to Riverside, the GoodGymers assembled in small groups and armed themselves with a litter picker, gloves and a bin bag and headed off to make the area much cleaner... which they sure did!

After 40 minutes, we had many bags of rubbish that Morrisons kindly disposed of for us.

A great little task to start 2020 with.

Next week we have a longer run as we visit Baby Bank Norfolk.
