Rowan Thorne has done a 6 month mission streak. Sat 2 Oct 2021

Rowan just completed a six month streak of doing missions. That’s so many bags of garden rubbish cleared and jobs done to help someone out and put a smile on their face. Give Rowan a cheer to encourage them to keep up the good work.

There wasn’t much wind but there was a bit of g(rain)

Report written by Sarah Beck

Ten of us braved the rain to spend an hour at Brixton Windmill on Saturday helping with a variety of jobs.

Shout out to Dottie and Benjamin who were at their first Goodgym missions 🙌

We split into three groups for 3 different tasks: 1. planting vegetable seedlings including cabbage and spring onions in the vegetable patch 2. planting hyacinth and daffodil bulbs alongside the windmill which will look lovely in the spring 3. cutting back brambles at the front of the park and a spot of litter picking

After nearly an hour we were done and headed off home. Hope to see everyone again soon!

Dewey decimating this deed

Report written by Samantha

Eight of us arrived at Jubilee Primary School ready to move their library from one room to another...only to find out that that the second room was on a different floor and they had far more books than any of us remember our schools' having!

We commandeered some trolleys and were VERY thankful to find out there was a lift (even if it was a bit temperamental). We started emptying shelves, filling boxes, carrying tables, stacking chairs and loading trolleys, while occasionally getting distracted by picture books - Here Comes the Poo Bus was quite the read. Plus, we even found the Gruffalo.

After an hour and a half, we called it a day with only a few shelves left for the school to get in the lifts, and all headed off to enjoy a bit of well-deserved sunshine.

Relocating the Library at Jubilee Primary School

Sat 17 Jul 10:30 am
Jubilee Primary School, Tulse Hill, London, SW2 2JE
The school is having some building work done so need some help rearranging!

Remember the Hungry Caterpillar or Biff & Chip?!

We've been given the biblical task (excuse the pun) of relocating Jubilee Primary's library ahead of a load of building work which starts next week!

Fortunately the library is moving from upstairs to downstairs so we'll have gravity on our side!

We start at 10:30am and it shouldn't take any longer than an hour and a half.

Please bring a mask!!

Meet outside the front gate and try not to be late as the school's security means it can be hard to get in!

Disposing of mouse ear 🐭

Report written by Sarah Beck

Eight of us met up in Kennington Park on the hottest day of the year so far for a spot of gardening 👩‍🌾

After a tour of the park to pick up some litter we headed to some flower beds to do some weeding.

  • Alex and Lizzie, both first timers 🥳 were pulling out some grass type plant around the roses.
  • Rob (another first timer 🥁), Sarah, Rowan, Jen, Michael and I were pulling out a weed called mouse ear which had taken over a flower bed. We had some chat about and the 5k in Brockwell Park in a few weeks that some of us are running and the return of parkrun hopefully very soon 🤞

After a bit over an hours work in the boiling sun we headed back to the rose garden with the tools and weeds.
