Lambeth
Transport Pret leftovers to a homeless charity

Bright Morning Star Prisons and Homeless Outreach help to rebuild, support and elevate the lives of the most vulnerable people on the street and at their Walk-In Centres. They provide basic and immediate physical and emotional help to the public, and provide a free counselling service.
We've been asked to help with transporting leftovers from Pret A Manger in London Bridge Station (opposite the National Rail trains), Station Approach, SE1 9SP to Lola who distributes the food at 3 Hermes Court, Southey Road, SW9 0PF. Here's a map - it's a 5km run/ride.
If you go in and say you're collecting food for Bright Morning Star Prison and Homeless Outreach, they should give you the leftovers! There may be quite a lot so just take what you can :)
🎒Please bring a backpack/panniers to transport the food (plastic bags might be useful too as the bags the pastries etc are in can be greasy!).
🤿Please bring a mask to wear in the shop
We need 3 people to sign up to transport the food - you can either run or ride, together or separately. If there are any problems, please call Lola on 07492079197 or 07946288144.
Any questions? Email me 👉 markgilyead@goodgym.org
Thank you 🙏 and hope it goes well!

Stockport
S'no real parkrun ... It's a GoodGym parkrun
Yesterday, GoodGym Stockport hosted the second in a series of (not) parkrun training sessions, aiming to keep us fit, active and happy during the current Lockdown measures.
Saturday 16th saw an incredible 83 runners from GoodGyms up and down the country...and even overseas! (shout out to those who were running in GoodGym spirit from Prague and Spain!) pacing their local trails and green spaces to complete the 5km session.
It seems the elements were out in spectacular force with runners embracing the winter wonderland conditions!
All in all, a RUNderful Saturday (not) parkrun!
Next week, Saturday 23rd January, the baton will be passed to GoodGym Colchester to host. You can sign up here: https://www.goodgym.org/happenings/goodgym-not-parkrun-week-3
Once again, a massive thanks to Melanie Young @ GoodGym Bristol (a very savvy computer person ) for creating the results form and who will put the results together for our (not) parkrun events.

New Kids on the Stock
What a turnout. What a safe, productive, industrious, dedicated, companionable turnout.
A big sized team headed to the huge warehouse in Poplar today to be allocated many types of stocktacking tasks by project co-ordinator Richard:
Writes Becky
“A great crew of people dropping in and out today! Our task was sorting and organising with abandon.
Richard presented us with multiple crates of miscellaneous donations for logging, passing on/reusing… There was sports equipment aplenty (in the morning I think a lot of hard work was undertaken separating basketballs from footballs…), as well as bundles of craft items and lots of stationary.
Crate by crate we unpacked and reassembled in more crates: yep, crates of paints, crates of pencils... You get the picture. And we found all sorts of interesting goodies - a spikey pink ball and the coup de grace: an elf on the shelf.”
Nick agrees:
“Yep, another fun filled, busy day down at the warehouse where Richard had us stocktaking a wide array of donations (yoga mats, balls – lots, in all sizes - books by the hundreds; wool, embroidery items and knitting needles; games and jigsaws…), caging items up and, where necessary, wrapping in industrial cling film to prevent them escaping.
Provided you came wearing sufficient layers, to take account of the somewhat chilly conditions inside the warehouse today, it was another enjoyable (and, we hope, productive) day in deepest Poplar.”
What a team. A big, big thank you to everyone who took part in this fabulous Community Mission, and especially to Becky and Nick for writing the report and taking pics, and to Charlotte and Jacqui for their pics too.
And a huge warm welcome to Edmund and Kezia who both enjoyed their first GG session today. Come back soon!
Crisis Community Missions return next week: there are drop-in sessions on both Thursday and Friday, 21/1 and 22/2, if you fancy getting involved.
