Fitness 4 All- Vauxhall

Lambeth Report written by Joel Wiles

8 of GoodGyms finest dominated 60 minutes of running fitness action in Vauxhall.

A surprise rain shower greeted us but little did we know it would be a blessing in disguise!! Finding our way to an empty floodlit area we made the most of the facilities and got going to raise our pulses and activate our muscles!

Key focus (after getting warm) was to really focus on getting our knee drive powerful and high then engage our solid core to create the perfect platform to run efficiently and powerfully.

Interspersing Running form drills with strength and conditioning exercises to get our bodies strong enough to coup with our extra power. Great muscle stability, balance and mental grit helping us to complete a range of mainly lower body and core moves.

Finishing off the hour with some perfectly formed forward leaning power strides then 6 minutes of pairs relays at a strong tempo.

Thanks for coming out and hope you enjoyed the session! Look forward to seeing you all next week (and every Thursday in February) same time, same place.

Smooth Running

Joel

Fitness 4 All- Camden

Camden Report written by Joel Wiles

4 GoodGymers crushes 60 minutes on high energy Running Fitness in Camden.

Our last session in Camden for this block set on a perfect Winter training venue in Granary Square! Masses of space, light and benches for us to utilise.

The focus this evening was to maximise the efficiency in our running capitulating on all the energy and power we put in.

Really working the conditioning of some of our key running muscles and tendons so they are able to cope with the demands of our new speed. Working hard to drive our knees up to 90 degrees with power and precision with a range of skipping drills.

Getting our contact time with the ground sharper with some endurance hops and strengthening up our lower body with calf raises and lunges.

Finishing off the hard work in style with 6 minutes of continuous relays to put it all the practice together!!

Thanks for coming along and hope to see you for our February’s sessions in Vauxhall!!

Smooth Running

Joel
