Mark Lawrence cheered by other people 25 times.
Mark is part of a crowd that's making a huge noise. Mark has been cheered by 25 people - that's a round of applause just on their own. We hope they keep it up.

Tonight saw 5 new GoodGym runners join the Coventry Group Kellie, Rebecca,Cîsu Saul and Kellie. It was great to see 19 runners at Drapers tonight. It was great to see some faces that we haven't seen for a few weeks too.
As we had been promised some refreshments and from experience, we knew that we were not good running back post food so we completed our hill sprints on the way out to the task. when we arrived, we were greeted by Ellie and split in to two groups, the large wall painting group and the shelving sanding and painting group. Without hesitation the two groups formed and attacked the tasks, as this was week 1 we knew that we would be back to complete the task next week. Samosas were consumed, wood sanded, walls painted and chatter rang through the building.
We will be back next week, thanks Ellie. see you all next week. Liz x

Wow, the forecast was definitely right- 100% rain from 6-8pm but still 13 awesome runners (including Kevin who clocked up his 10th run) came to Coventry GoodGym to run 8 km to get to Eric Williams House
After a reluctant start, we soon headed off in good cheer to our task. The route out involved dodging puddles as we ran to get to our destination but spirits weren't dampened and the fantastic team of runners kept each other going. Once at the task, we were met by Terri, the task was introduced, tools were gathered and roles taken and we got on with the task.
At present the garden is rather over run with brambles and moss so our task was to clear the bramble and tidy the flower beds so that the garden can be used more by the residents. As ever, the team set to and soon were completing elements of the task unperturbed by the rain. As this is quite a large garden area we planned this to be a two visit task, we will be returning in early September.
Before we knew it, our time was up, the area was tidied and squash was consumed before setting off and partaking in a Fartlek- speed play- on our return to Drapers. Along the way, massive puddles had formed which were great for puddle jumping or shoe cleaning :)
It was great, after stretching, to relax/dry and enjoy a drink with those that could stay on a little unofficial social. Have great summers, those of you who are going away and see the rest of you either on Saturday (at parkrun) or next Tuesday. Liz x

What a contrast to the weather last week! I think I prefer puddles to heatwaves. Great evening, thanks all!

On a lovely, sunny Tuesday evening, 19 runners set off to tidy up the Canal from bridges 1-3. It was great to see welcome 3 new runner, hello Jo, Cathy and Dave. It had been a busy weekend with parkrun appearances and great runs and personal bests at Northbrook 10km. As a supporter on the course, it was great to see so many familiar faces running well!
Tonight we were supporting the Canal and Rivers Trust and helping maintain a cycle way for Sustrans.
It was clear to see as we set off that the canal has been used more regularly recently in the warmer weather as there was plenty of rubbish for us to collect. Many hands definitely made light work and there was a flurry of activity as we cleared the areas around and between bridges 1-3. The most interesting find this time was a note excusing a child from PE due to mountain climbing! along with a water pistol, shoe, safe and DVD.
After heading back into town, we used a new location for a speed work fitness session that was a twist on the traditional relay run. All runners enjoyed the session, possibly enjoying the up hill leg less than the downhill leg.
Here are the links to the two local runs you might be in Sunrise 5km and Chase the sun.
Have a lovely week, Liz x
