Not only did I fall off the wagon, I dragged it into the woods, set it on fire and used the insurance money to buy cupcakes
7 Goodgymmers visited their former stomping grounds at Tottenham Green for a good, old fashioned tidy up session.
A Prickly Night
Laura from Friends of Tottenham Green had a multitude of tasks awaiting us.
Main task of the evening was to trim down a field of dead flowers, while saving the seeds for the new season next year.
It was a prickly business, and seeding the poppycock sacks in particular led to both some rather blue humour and itchy arms. Poor Latoya ended up rubbing her arms against a lamppost to stop the itch.
We also swept the paths, weeded the fence perimeter, did a thorough litter pick, brought an unwieldy ivy back into a semblance of control, and we even had time jump over a fence into a field of nettles to get rid of the rubbish. A prickly night indeed.
Back next week for more fun!
"The Vicar is worried"
Or so I'm told! It's been a long while since we've visited our former HQ and it sounds like they need a hand. Come and join us for an old school clear up at Tottenham Green.
Meet us at 6:45 for 4k run to task (one way - so bring your Oyster card for afterwards!). If you prefer, you can meet us at task for 7:15ish
City of London Occupational Therapists have asked GoodGym to help Ms J with the removal of bed and mattress in bedroom, and small fridge in hallway. To be taken via lift to disposal area in Basement Level of Great Arthur House (fob key for lift to basement level to be collected from Golden Lane Estate Office, Great Arthur House - 0207 253 2556).
This morning two Goodgymmers got up bright and early to not only help hand out for parcels at the foodbank but also complete Parkrun.
For Shani it was her first Parkrun(welcome to clan) then a nice walk to the task.
When we got there we started sorting newly donated items by dates.
Femi the centre manager already had some parcels ready for collection so, when people started arriving Latoya was given the task of handing them out to each person.
Shani continued helping Femi to sort the donations so they could be ready to packing for the next scheduled collection date.
Connected Communities Team have asked GoodGym to pick up and deliver groceries for Miss T from collecting food from Selby food hub, Selby Road, Tottenham, London, N17 8JL and deliver it to her home. She would like washing powder, washing up liquid, shower gel /shampoo/ toilet roll / any food and any drink.
Femi from the Haringey Foodbank needs some support this Saturday to help with the running of the foodbank.
