Jules completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Jules was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

Jules Dann has cheered 10 times. Sat 9 Oct 2021

Jules has helped keep other people motivated, Jules has noticed what others have done and cheered 10 people. We doff our caps to you Jules.

Scrape, stretch, spruce & sweep

Sat 9 Oct
Report written by Bethan Greenaway

It is always a joy to go to the Children's Allotment and today was no different.

Alice and her team are busy putting the final plans in place for the grand opening at the end of October and needed a bit of Goodgym pixie dust sprinkled over a fee jobs.

Enjoying some surprisingly hot autumn sunshine we leveled off and membraned some area of the polytunnel in readiness for some new raised beds. The entrance to the site was also spruced up and tidied (all worms disturbed were given a new home in the compost area), kale was planted and compost ferried across the site.

We ended our task with some acrobatic apple-picking and were sent on our merry ways with apples for crumble/cake/juice etc.

The Children's Allotment weekend edition

Sat 9 Oct 14:00 pm
The Children's Allotment, East Ward Allotments, Cricket Road, Oxford, OX4 3DJ
Helping the gradual progress of this wonderful space

The Children's Allotment is a gorgeous space near Florence Park. They are very nearly ready to launch, so we will be helping with the last few jobs.

Jobs typically include spreading wood chip, weeding, preparing beds (raised and otherwise) for planting, planting various lovely plants, sowing grass seed, building weed barriers, relaxing in the resident hammock..........

The poly tunnel now has been thriving over the summer so we may be harvesting vegetables too.

All tools will be provided but please bring your own gardening gloves.

Location is here.

Walking Group - White House to Electric Road

Mon 23 Aug 18:00 pm
The White House by Tap Social pub, 38 Abingdon Road, Oxford , OX1 4PD
Stretch those legs after the weekend

Meeting this week at the White House pub run by Tap Social, we'll follow the canal and then cut across the fields along Electric Road before popping out by Hinksey Park. Might be muddy if it's been raining.

Length: 5km

Meet: the White House pub on Abingdon Road

On=street parking looks limited so worth checking ahead to see where free parking spots are. There's paid parking at Hinksey Park
