Sausage rolling all the way

Lambeth Report written by Charlotte Emms

Jordan and I picked up three heavy bags of unsold food from Greggs in Brixton and headed north on our bikes to deliver it to Chandler Community Hall for distribution by the Bright Morning Star Prison and Homeless Outreach team. We took a wrong turn leading to a slight detour but arrived eventually and briskly handed over the bags of food. Less than a minute later we were off on our bikes cycling back south and took a slightly more scenic route home along the river.

Community Cape

Jordan earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.

Jordan completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Jordan was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

A muddy good time

Lambeth Report written by Charlotte Emms

8 of us met up at Agnes Riley Gardens on a frosty Sunday morning to lend a hand in maintaining the community-run allotment.

We were tasked with de-weeding and flattening the vegetable plots, ready for planting. There were a few fennels left still surviving the winter chill, so we made sure to re-plant those somewhere else instead of uprooting and mixing with the weeds.

Within an hour, we had cleared almost all of the weeds from the plot and raked it over smoothly - a dramatic difference from when we started!

Well done everyone :)
