Recycling litter picked aluminium cans for Helipads for Hospitals

A great new task.
Get out and litter pick some aluminium. Throw in any you've got at home too.
Take them to one of the Big Red Bins (BRBs), crush them (a handy little bicep workout) and deposit for them to be collected and used to build an aluminium helipad at Leicester Royal Infirmary.
The aim is to collect about 80 tonnes of unwanted aluminium (i. e. saucepans and drinks cans) and to use the raw material to form an alloy strong enough to build a helipad on site at hospitals.
The first priority is Leicester Royal Infirmary, where Air Ambulance helicopters currently have to land on Nelson Mandela Park so the patients — often critically ill —have to be transferred to road ambulances and driven to the Accident and Emergency Department, about ¾ of a mile away.
Either sign up to the weekly community mission and share pics of you collecting the cans or log it as your own good deed if you are collecting more than once a week.
Collecting/depositing counts as one good deed. During lockdown please either store the cans at your home or if you live close enough deposit at one of the BRBs.
They are currently located at the Co-ops in Enderby and Barrow-upon-Soar and in Shepshed on Britannia St. More are expected to be added.

Needle work!
More great work this afternoon as the centre was much busier and we should have vaccinated over 1,000 residents in the 7.5 hours of appointments today.
Amazing.
