TRAID is an environmental charity working to tackle and solve the problems caused by producing, consuming and disposing of clothes. The funds are mainly raised through our charity shops which hold five SALES per year. On the last day of the sale we need to clear the shop of leftovers for it to be restocked the next day. The tasks are to take clothes off the hangers, pack the clothes in big boxes or trolleys and pack the hangers.
Fergus just completed a six month streak of doing missions. That’s so many bags of garden rubbish cleared and jobs done to help someone out and put a smile on their face. Give Fergus a cheer to encourage them to keep up the good work.
A full - on task for David's final one as AA!
Ruth was an exemplary task owner, putting us straight to work, sanding metal benches before spray painting them.
Raymond made a hello visit which was really sweet of him.
Fergus, Charlotte, Pauline and Rosie all did an excellent job.
We were treated to juice and cake!
They are entirely volunteer-run and we do struggle to stay on top of the garden as well as other things. In lockdown their group volunteer activities mainly stopped and the garden became quite meadowy.
This time we will finish repairing benches by assembling wooded beams and metal ends.
Last month we helped the lovely Single homelessness project (SHP) to plant apple trees. now we can help with prepping a bed for planting- Julia has chard seedlings that would love a home- so that could be a nice task in the garden!
Let's meet outside the YONDER climbing centre and jog up.
