Windmill Weeding Wednesdays (and other tasks) 17 Mar

Helping a local community farm

Are you finding it hard to motivate yourself in the morning? Come and join us for a midweek morning dose of goodness at Windmill Hill City Farm. Early morning, fresh air, walking/running/cycling (or however else you travel), volunteering, animals (and people, if you like them - socially distanced of course) - what a great way to start your day!

Tasks may include, but are not limited to, weeding, sweeping, petting goats (optional), loading and maneuvering wheelbarrows (bring your own gardening gloves if you have them, they are very useful to have for this task and any other tasks)

Welcome to Lucy who attended a GoodGym session for the first time - thank you for coming and we hope to see more of you!

Four GoodGymmers carried on digging up the path to prepare it for gravel to be laid and two of us were spreading manure on the paddock. It was nice to be outside and chatting to fellow volunteers whilst doing good in the commuity. Well done everyone.

Another Wednesday morning was well spent at the farm and no one left without a smile. The goats may have had something to do with that. Goat to love them, they are adorable.

Goodgym Bristol online HIIT training session

Start off the month of March by improving your strength and fitness through the power of Zoom

This will be a short High Intensity Interval Training session on Zoom involving various different cardio and strengthening exercises carried out in 30/40 second bursts followed by 20 seconds rest. Exercises might include star jumps, press-ups, squats etc. however these are open to suggestion from participants. Other ideas that might entice you to join in could include 40 seconds of bicep curling a heavy pint of beer, followed by 20 seconds rest, 40 seconds of cake slicing, and eating followed by 20 seconds of digestion.
There is the chance for a quick chinwag and catch up after the session too! This is the zoom link (I hope it works!)

*What a breeze! *

On Saturday 20th Feb, 37 GoodGym runners from up and down the country (and even overseas!) battled the breeze and smashed through their 5 kilometers (not) parkrun training session.

Once again, a massive thanks to Melanie Young @ GoodGym Bristol (a very savvy computer person ) for creating the results form and who has been putting the results together for our (not) parkruns.
