The lovely folks at the Elizabeth House Foodbank have invited Goodgym back to help with their ongoing community delivery service. The team were super productive over the festive period, and we are happy to continue their excellent work.
This task is will involve deliveries of food and supplies on foot to local households around Islington. Bringing a substantial rucksack could be useful, but not essential.
Area Activator Simon will be present to help with the running of this session.
Mrs M was really low on food so she was really pleased that I had arrived to collect her list. I have been shopping several times for her and I always seem to get wet on the way to visit her! After collecting the list I headed to the blissfully quiet Tescos down the road, then back to Mrs M with her food. I dropped of the shopping to a very grateful Mrs M and then start my run back home (in the rain again obviously!).
Toughest challenge yet. The sofa needed to be moved to allow a new hospital standard bed into the flat. The sofa was huge and very heavy and needed four people to move it out of the flat and down two flights of stairs. After carrying it out of the flat and down a corridor we got stuck. We resorted to taking it apart bolt by bolt. Mission accomplished. Mr J can come home! Massive team effort! Thanks team! Thanks Red Cross. Thanks Andrew.
GoodGym has been asked by a team from Whittington Hospital if any runner is available to help Mr A by moving his bed. Mr C now requires a hospital bed but needs the current bed to be removed first. The task is to please move Mr A double bed in his bedroom downstairs into the main office or outside by the bins for collection. Mr A's bed is a divan bed so tools should not be needed. Mr A will be on site to provide access and direct the task. Mr A would be grateful for any help offered.
