7 runners turned up in the torrential rain, to hand out leaflets and put up posters advertising Gingerbread. Guildford Gingerbread friendship group is a local support group, offering meet ups and support to single parent families in and around the area. Get togethers include parent night outs and family activity days where parents and kids can get to know each other. Gingerbread is the national charity for single parent families. Check out their website for other local groups and support in all areas relating to single parenthood. https://www.gingerbread.org.uk/information/separating/ We headed off into Woking town, and starting with Costa we put up our first poster. We then headed into The Peacocks center - Wokings' indoor shopping center, and set about asking shops if they would kindly put our posters up! After 20 mins we headed out of town and towards Woking park. Once there we done some interval training, which consisted of a warm up lap of 600m followed by 2 mins recovery. We repeated this 3 more times, each time increasing our pace. We then ran the 1km back to our meeting point. On the way Anne told us she completed her first 10km of the year, well done Anne!!
