With a moo moo here and a moo moo there...

After taking a variety of transport methods to our mission, some being a bit less GoodGym than others (is getting an Uber cheating?), five GoodGymers met at Paddock Hill care home to improve the garden for residents. We met Dazzling Darren who explained our tasks for the morning:

• Trimming a privet hedge
• Repainting a metal fence
• Weeding and power blasting a courtyard

We were warned that powerblasting could be a mucky job, at which point Kamikaze Kim naturally jumped at the chance to have a go. As can be seen from the photos, Darren was not exaggerating! The dementia garden also included a random farmyard animal noises generator, which provided hours of mooing, bleating and oinking entertainment!

Meanwhile Adaptable Ash and Kindly Kat made quick work of the hedge, and split up to reinforce team powerblasting and team fence scrubbers. The remains of the exisiting paint needed stripping back so we were armed with wire wool brushes, and put all of our recent GG training of press ups and tricep dips into action! It was quite slow work but with three of us on the job we managed to get the majority of the fence stripped. Brilliant Bee then unleashed her artistic side with a can of black paint, and the fence was transformed!

This really smartened up the entrance to the care home, and team powerblasting did a great job on tidying up the courtyard so residents can relax in the dementia garden. Darren was delighted with how much we'd achieved and what a difference it had made. Well done everyone - top work and great start to the weekend!!
