Another top evening for GoodGym Barnsley as 8 runners swept up in Locke Park
We were met by Debbie, one of the Friends of Locke Park - who handed out brooms and rakes of various sizes. The sections of path we had swept on our previous visit were still looking quite excellent so we headed further into the depths of Locke Park to clear as much debris as we could.
We covered a big area, clearing the paths that the local parkrun use. I was determined to practise my night time photography and managed to get one decent one using the floodlight (progress!) whilst everybody was working hard.
Even some local joggers appreciated our efforts as they did laps of the park!
With the path cleared, we ran gently down the hill to the bottom of our hill rep circuit.
A 450m loop of hilly doom!
It was a tough workout, 15 minutes to complete as many reps as possible of the hill loop, plus a surprise exercise to complete at the end of each rep.
I was blowing after that third one! - Dan
With legs and lungs well and truly worked out, we had a gentle run back to Shaw Lane (although everybody still managed to bosh up that last hill) before a lovely stretch out!
