Today was our first visit to The Singh Sabha Sports Centre on Stoke Poges Lane. This sports facilities offers a diverse range of sporting activities for the local community and our main task tonight was to help remove pebbles from the astro turf. Or so we thought!

As always, we started with our welcome brief and warm up game of ‘stop the goal’. Well done to Ruth for saving the most amount of goals. When a lady can save a goal you know she’s a keeper!

We headed out for our short 2km run to the centre. Thank you to Darren for being our sweeper at the back this evening.

A fine Messi

So the keys for the astro pitch had been misplaced which meant that we could not do our assigned task this evening, But that matters little to a team of Goodgymers who are up for doing anything good.

We got some black bin bags and walked the field to clear it of rubbish

Can I Kick It! Yes You Can!

We made sure there were no Trippier hazards and set on our way picking up litter. Shame about the Stones! We were looking forward to a sweeper role.

Within 30 minutes the full time whistle was blown and the litter pick task was done.

Being Keane for a fitness session and a full pitch up ourselves we divided into two teams for a play off final Goodgym styles

No Kane No Gain

Ricky’s Rovers (Keeper Ruth, Striker Sara and Offside Sandy) vs Darren’s Dashers (Jockey Jean, Midfield Manjit and Run On Emily).

Ok, so hats off to anyone who plays Football! It might be a beautiful games but it’s not as easy one! We really did test our anaerobic system this evening. A dirty tackle or two, handballs glore and even a goal or two were scored. We think Darren’s Dashers won, with our lady Jean winning Lady of the Match!

Cech it Out!

We did our second mission on Friday! Well done to Ruth and Ricky who made themselves available in quick time to help Mrs A move a sofa out of her house in order to get her hospital bed delivered.

Next week we are over at The Royal British Legion Cippenham helping with a fence painting task.

Have a turf-rific week
