This morning I completed a lovely solo Community Mission, helping the Friends of Gosforth Central Park

The team of volunteers regularly meet on a Monday morning. They were all so welcoming and enthusiastic.

I was greeted by Jo, one of the Trustees who gave myself a tour of the park, showing me all the different areas. They have lots of volunteers who spread out doing lots of different tasks including edging paths, looking after the pond and litter picking

Jo and myself picked up our equipment including a wheelbarrow, hi viz jackets and trowels. We got stuck into weeding and had a great 2 hours of chatting (apparently pre covid they would usually stop for a cup of tea half way through!) I also helped with some planting.

Time flew by and it was really enjoyable, once I’d figured out what was a weed and what was a plant!
