Liv and I joined some of the volunteers from the church to move leaf mulch in this Wednesday mission. We were welcomed by Richard at Ravenstone School, who kindly donates the mulch to the church flower beds. We got a quick tour of the lovely outside area of the school where the lovely flowers and chickens live. Richard provided us with some tools to ensure we can successfully fill up the wheelbarrows and move the mulch.

We used the wheelbarrows to carry the mulch across Balham High Road - not a usual sight people see on the street! It took us some time to get used to maneuvering the wheelbarrows on the pavements. After a few rounds of wheeling, we could definitely feel it on our arms and back. There were enough to cover the flower beds, so we called it an evening. Catherine joined us towards the end as she was unfortunately stuck at work- she came to say hi and helped us take a group photo.

We had a good arm workout and enjoyed knowing the things happening in the community. Hopefully more wonderful plants are now able to grow on the flower bed.
