First things first you'll notice that this isn't Brahma, I'm Olivia and my usual haunt is GoodGym Ealing but tonight I covered for Brahma so he could have a good stab at a 5km race, I hope it went well!

We started tonight by welcoming 3 new runners Ruth, Selina and Zara for their first GoodGym deeds as well as a few tourists in Graham, Michelle and Rowena. Great to have you all down tonight and if was nice to have some solidarity and not be the only new face in the crowd!

We then did a few running technique drills outside the Aquatics Centre to get our bodies limbered up and run ready! Featuring the horse style kick drills I'd tried out on my group yesterday we also did some leaning sprints and some classic butt kickers.

It was then a short 1 mile route down to the Mobile Garden City where the main task for the evening was weeding, weeding and more weeding (with a hint of watering)! We were met by task owner Alice who got everyone set up with some gloves and an area to focus on and took a few of the more green fingered members of the group aside to weed inside the beds themselves.

Who knows the difference between a weed and a plant?!

There were a lot of blank faces (guilty as charged here) but luckily we had a few people in the know.

There's a lot to do at the little plot and we could have spent an eternity weeding away but after a very good dent had been made it was time to head back.

On route we stopped for a 10 minute tabata style session of 20 seconds on 10 seconds off twice over, consisting of a mixture of speed, strength and agility exercises. We had a wonderful backdrop with the sun setting over the park turning the whole sky beautiful shades of red (obviously a nod to the GoodGym colour scheme) and I think everyone enjoyed it...

Just a very short jog back to the start for a stretch and we were done!

Thank you to Newham for having me and for arranging the beautiful sun set over the Olympic Park!

Hopefully see you all again another time!
