A fantastic five helped fundraise tonight for a local children's hospice, Bluebell Wood at the Barnsley FC vs. Sunderland match!

It was a chilly one tonight as we headed off on the 1.5km run to Oakwell, Barnsley's football ground. We had to be extra careful when crossing roads tonight as the football traffic was crazzyyy!

Fresh from the CiRF course at the weekend, on the run there, I got everyone to focus on their posture, in particular their arms, which raised some good chit-chat along the way! More to come gang, watch this space :-p

Mairead joined us at the ground, celebrating her 50th good deed for GoodGym Barnsley!! She wore her celebratory tie atop her head with pride and looks forward with glee to the arrival of her larvley black tee! Let's show Mairead our support and cheer away here. Great effort Mairead!

Our task tonight was rather simple so there isn't much to blab on about here! We arrived and were met by the lovely Anna from Bluebell Wood Children's hospice. She handed us each a bucket and asked us to find a spot to stand/shiver/wiggle and shake our buckets to raise some much needed funds for the charity. It is a great local cause and many of the fans knew of it, so it was quite a successful evening! The charity relies almost completely on fundraising to stay open and deliver the amazing services at the hospice, which requires £11,000 per day to stay open!

Once the group were almost frozen solid and having narrowly escaped a brawl between fans, we handed out buckets in and headed back to base. In an attempt to warm everyone up, I encouraged everyone to run faster between lamposts and use their arms to drive them forward, but with the blood still missing from their extremities, the group were having none of it!

The cold never bothered me anyway!

Back at base, stretches done and talk of the next task over, everyone headed home to thaw out! Another great task everyone, thanks for coming - I am sure the charity will really appreciate our help!

I’d be interested as to how much we got in our buckets. Football violence aside, I think we did good. Disclaimer- we were not involved
