We dig Christmas !!

…..What do you mean not a good pun?? For those that came I could mention 'Rock – In and around the Christmas tree but it's safer to say we truly did dig at Christmas as well putting the bulbs around the tree we put some in the ground as well. Tulip ones that is (Or Tu tuu lip … help us out here Victoria please :) A sentimental run report for me as trainer mainly I guess because it is the last one of this year and therefore one cannot help a little reflection of how far Ricmond have travelled and grown in its opening year. To be part of that and share with so many GOOD people is well … OK I'll stop before I get mushy. So where was I, Oh yes chocolates went missing (REAL reason for being sentimental ho ho ho) Nope, I'll come back to the chocolate, I was about to explain how festively Richmond GG ran along the river to take on the merciless Nightingale road which sits at the foot of Richmond hill and boasts at least a 85% gradient in places. The hill was challenged at least three times possibly four by our special guest Stephen from head office (Stephen we salute you!) whilst Lunge walking may we add! After this we jogged back along the river in our elf and santa hats to make our way to ETNA where the lovely Vanessa waited with Chocolates and a card to greet us. Our task here was to plant some tulip bulbs to the front of ETNA building and put up the Christmas lightbulbs on the fir tree that stands proudly beside the flower bed.

Light on elves but big on heart the festive team rolled up their sleeves and got stuck in. What was great about this task. Well lots but the fact was we could see the results of our work immediately with the tree taking on four sets of lights and so long as we planted the bulbs the right way up (santa was confused but I am sure we did) then come spring we can see our efforts bloomin again!!

As ever guys it was awesome to run with you and a big shout to Stephen again for joining us and volunteering to look after the chocolates. Was lovley that we got to share with the guys at Wholefoods who look after us weekly too!

A short run back and our stretching routine was put off to much later as GG Richmond were keen to take on some refreshments at our first social get together. This part was pretty special too and a great way to toast the year and sow some seeds (Not Tu... Tuuulips) with ideas for the New Year and how GG Ricmond will grow. All very exciting indeed!

Once again all who attended and those who keep attending Richmond group runs I salute you and admire your passion every Monday from pun to pounding the streets you make some great things happen

Merry Christmas all !!

PS – New Year back 2nd Jan (That's right... the 2ND) also we shall have some starter runs on two other occasions in Jan so watch the space. Oh and don't forget what races can we sign up for in the year and when is the next social ?

Have a fun time and God bless!
