Wardrobe down... but it's gonna make it, chair up!

Sasha, Mridula and James visited Mrs E's place to move some furniture around so Mrs E could be discharged from hospital.

Mrs E's daughter welcomed us and quickly briefed us on what needed to be done: a wardrobe had to be moved downstairs, and a recliner chair had to come upstairs.

The stairs in question would prove to be a challenge, but with three superb GoodGym-ers on the case we knew we'd figure it out. Eventually.

First up was the recliner chair. We needed to disassemble it to get it up those stairs. The question was, how? We examined it from all angles to try and determine how the back piece detached. As we poked, prodded and yanked in a very professional manner, trying our best to look like we knew what we were doing, Mrs E's daughter told us that she'd seen a man do it previously and it didn't require any poking, prodding or even yanking now that she thought about it. Back to the drawing board it was. And the instruction manual. Luckily at this point Mridula located the all important levers that liberated the back piece. Eureka. Up the stairs went the disassembled recliner chair in two pieces. To be continued...

Next up (or down) was the wardrobe. First we tried taking it down the stairs. This was ambitious: just by looking at the wardrobe and looking at the stairs we knew we'd need a miracle of Tetris-style proportions to fit it. But we tried anyway. Once it became clear this wasn't going to work we hoiked it back up and then commenced on Plan B: taking the wardrobe outside, down the steps to street level and then around the back of the building to the back entrance of the house. Job done. Happy days.

Now... back to that disassembled recliner chair. How about we assemble that again for you? Alright there you go it's back together. Yes we'll zip up the fabric again, give us two seconds. Actually, give us two minutes. You know what why don't you make yourself a cup of tea and we'll shout once we're done.

We got there in the end. Mrs E's daughter was very pleased and we departed chuffed to have made a difference.
