I went along to East End Women/Building Futures based in Walker to hand over a cash donation (£100) from our recent bake sale. They are based in a brilliant location alongside the River Tyne.

My Mum had kindly donated £10 towards the final total so I went out and bought some more food donations that they were in need of (including biscuits, custard and gravy)

It was so long since I had been (shout out to Anji for giving me directions of where to go) and it was really emotional returning. We had completed so many tasks at the Food Bank through our Covid and lock downs.

Covid for myself was really tough, living by myself (especially during the first wave when social bubbles didn’t exist) and I was working on Intensive Care in a Hospital.

It was amazing to see how much the Food Bank had developed and grown. They very grateful for our donations (including the donations from our bake sale that Anji had recently delivered) They have managed to create hundreds of Christmas Hampers for Families and just over 180 children have received Toys which is fantastic.
