I haven't been doing many (any ) missions lately, so it was nice to find one I could easily do on the way home from work, on my bike. Mr J was a lovely, chatty gent and had prepared a shopping list, which he talked me through. I was soon back, with most of the items, and a couple of substitutions which he gratefully received. He said that he doesnt get out at all these days, and asked me about the weather, telling me to wrap up warm in the cold. There was a slightly awkward moment where he tried to slip me a tenner, and said he felt bad that I did not take it. Happily I was able to reassure him that we do these things to help others, and that is our reward, seeing another human happy and with things they need. It was lovely to meet Mr J, and it pleased me to think he probably will be tucking into sausage, eggs and chips later. I hope he enjoys it. I was reminded how important these missions are, and must do more when I can
