Three of us attended the inaugural GG Sheffield Community Mission at the always-lovely Alexandra Road Community Garden. We were met by volunteer Jane and received our instructions: to tidy up anything we thought needed tidying. Working our way around the garden we trimmed & cut back bushes, weeded, removed dead plants, were lightly stabbed by brambles and did a little bit of litter-picking. The chance to get involved in numerous job kept us moving around!

We were offered water and tools, and were given a bit of information from Jane as to how the garden came to be. After a little photoshoot, practising the now-classic Sheffield 'Needham' and 'leg pop' poses, we packed up and said goodbye to Jane.
